The banknote displayed above was issued by the Banque de France in 1997, featuring a portrait of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, the writer of “The Little Prince”.
The banknote, which was part of the 1997 Franc series, was designed by the French engraver Roger Pfund and featured a portrait of Saint-Exupéry on the front, along with an image of the Little Prince and a drawing of the author’s plane, the Lockheed P-38 Lightning.
This 50 Franc banknote was in circulation from 1997 until 2002, when it was replaced by the Euro currency.
